Moving to secondary school is a big transition for all children. When your child has special educational needs, we understand that this transition can feel even more nerve-wracking for parents.
Our workshop is designed to support you through the transition to secondary school. We will guide you through the process, help you understand what needs to happen and when, and share tips and advice for the journey ahead.
Our transition workshops are fully up to date with the process in Bolton and are based on what SEND law says should happen.
These sessions are for parents and carers who have a child who does not have an EHC Plan who will start secondary school in September 2027 or 2028. Your child will be in Year 5 or Year 6 in September 2026.

The workshops are run by staff from The Compass Partnership. All of our staff live in Bolton and have children or young people with additional needs.
