SEN Support Workshop

There is a broad legal framework that ensures that children with special educational needs receive the special educational support that they need when in nursery, school and college. This starts with support called SEN Support and where necessary moves into an EHC Plan. The majority of children and young people who have SEND are supported under the SEN Support framework.

In our ‘Support in School without an EHC Plan’ workshop we cover everything that SEN Support can provide for your child. We will talk you through both the law and the local guidance that is in place, so you can be empowered to have the conversations you need to when supporting your child in their setting.

Whether additional needs have already been identified, whether there’s a diagnosis in place or whether you’re just starting to have some concerns, this workshop will guide you through the framework that you can expect in your child’s setting.

We also cover when an EHC Plan may be considered.

SEN Support covers additional provision for children and young people with all types of additional needs, no diagnosis is necessary for SEN Support to be put in place.

Support in School without an EHC Plan Workshop

Our workshops are held in small groups in our dedicated training space, The Green Room, which means there is plenty of time for questions and parent and carers have the opportunity to meet other families.

Workshops are hosted by staff from The Compass Partnership, all of whom are from Bolton and have children/young people with additional needs.

A range of refreshments are provided.

Booking is compulsory.
