Neurodevelopmental Support Offer

Neurodevelopmental Support

We’re excited to share that we’ve secured funding to create a brand-new programme of early support for Bolton parents and carers of children with neurodevelopmental differences — including autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia and more.

This investment comes from Greater Manchester and is part of a wider programme to provide families the right information and help as early as possible — including before a diagnosis is in place. That means whether you’re noticing differences for the first time, waiting for an assessment, or supporting a child with an existing diagnosis, this offer is for you.

Our sessions will be developed to support understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions from an early stage. However, we will welcome parents and carers wherever they are on their journey.

What we’re developing

  • A new range of practical workshops — run by The Compass Partnership (home to Bolton Parent Carers and Bolton Information Advisory Service) — that you can attend either in person or online.
  • A resource hub where we will gather a range of tools, aids and resources that you might want to have a try of before you buy for yourself. As parents of young adults with additional needs we have spent a fortune over the years on items that have never been used! We are going to develop of hub where you can come and try things out, or have a look at books and feel more confident to go away and consider purchasing for your own family. We’ll have things like weighted blankets, fidget toys, books for children and parents and more!

What you can expect from the sessions

  • Short, topic based sessions alongside longer workshops — flexible options to suit your needs.
  • Practical signposting to local services, specialist support and further learning.
  • A safe, non-judgemental space to ask questions and connect with other parents.

All sessions will be free.

We’re really looking forward to building this offer for Bolton families — practical, friendly support where and when you need it. If you have any questions in the meantime, get in touch with The Compass Partnership and we’ll be happy to help.
